Microsoft Word 2007: Tips to Remember

Using Microsoft Word 2007 is handy but quiet annoying too when it comes with a bunch of buttons and options on the same ribbon. One might get confused where to find the right button. The worst thing in that is not to find the desired option on the possible location. For example you can’t just set text spacing right from the ribbon. So you need to remember the old tricks which worked for Word 2003. Here are a few techniques you can use to perform well even in Word 2007.

1. Change the default save location

You can set the default location for your documents in Microsoft Word 2007. This will not only save a lot of time but will create ease too to access your files. To set a default location, click the Office Button and select word options, then click on save option in the left pane and set the default location in the right pane. Now when you save a file it will automatically be saved on the entered location.

2. Increase / Decrease character spacing

Sometimes you have to fill the space with the entered text but the line still needs some characters. In that case you can increase character spacing to fill the empty spaces and make your document look pretty and modern. Just select the text and right click on it and choose font option. Select the Character Spacing tab and you will easily find how to increase the character spacing from the options. Remember that you can also decrease the spacing too.

3. Track / Accept changes

Fed up of altering and saving your document again and again? This handy option will not only enable you to track what others have changed in your document but also you can accept the healthy changes. After completing your document click on the review ribbon and click on track changes option straight to enable tracking of changes. You can also see accept and reject option on the right side from where you can either accept the changes or reject them.
